it's poignant that how, after waving to and hugging all the wonderful international delegates that came all the way to singapore from places like australia, the phillipines and hongkong, after going around taking photos with all the people who made the whole convention such an extraordinary one, after saying all the 'thank-you's to delegates, the facilitators and the rest of the oh-so-amazing OT, after hearing the nice little cheer the pascoe vale girls had for rgs, and after saying farewell and seeing delegates leave in nice little packs and slowly vacating the canteen, the first question that came to my mind was this: 'what do we do now?'

it's a tough question, really.

before it started, the preparation for the convention seemed as if it would never end, but now that it's ended, i wish it never had to end. on a personal note i've been enriched beyond measure, not only through the planning for the convention, but also in the meeting of international delegates and the sharing of cultures, the cross-pollination of ideas, and also by the little beam of pride and hope that radiates within each and every one of us when we think that maybe the friends we meet at this convention may be the movers and shakers of the future, where each one of us contributes to each of our various communities in our own perhaps small but definitely unique way.

maybe it might be a bit idealistic, but the hope emboldens me. however, because it would just be downright weird if i start quoting the rgs motto (haha), i guess it's just heartening to see that despite our generation having been labelled as apathetic and unsympathetic and selfish, there are still people who care enough, and that there are still people who are committed to making the world a better place than what it is today.

and that these are young ladies who might one day upset, in a good way, the status quo. (:

the note from one of the delegates (the one that we as an OT all unanimously tip as the next big politician haha) went something like 'if there were big brains involved in the convention, there were even bigger hearts in it all', and i have to say, nothing says it better. there's just so, so, so much i will miss - all the awesome OT members and facilitators, the activities that we planned, the speakers that came and inspired, the crazy and awesomely random things that we did as an OT (and as FIX comm, hurhurhur), the friends that we made, the enthusiasm that ignited the atmosphere throughout the whole convention...and well, the whole ICYL experience in itself, i guess. haha, it's probably just the sense of loss that inevitably accompanies every brilliantly memorable experience.

My hand to your heart,
here's where we will start,
we will bring light to the world!
When I see your love,
I hear you laughter,
flooding the skies,
sisters forever.
Together we will look up at the skies,
be the stars that will shine, oh shine. (:

to a convention like none other, ICYL08. ♥♥♥

lives, writes, sings, plays the piano, and attempts to sound intellectual at times (conclusion: fails rather miserably).

loves music (almost strictly classical, hurhur & inclusive of faziolis!), literature (& also the sciences - no they are not in conflict), making hopelessly lame puns, laughter, white/milk chocolate, cheesecake, the world & the people in it. list not exhaustive, by the way.

wants the world to be filled with peace, joy and love, and also wants (perhaps a little more selfishly) to be happy, plus lead a life of purpose. that would be more than enough. (:

oh, and she likes embarking on her own 'free hugs!' campaigns after exams and the like; not really sure why. D: (at any rate, you can tell that she's random enough.)

loves you!♥

very plain, she knows; but this is probably herself in its entirety - nothing more than a compilation of perhaps-boring-to-you little things (and the occasional Important Event), but also nothing less than all the brilliant memories which constitutes her life, and perhaps yours.

also interpreted as an inability to express with other things but words (nothing more, nothing less!), although even words sometimes won't do enough. but she does like orange.

v2.0 (230208): maybe solid grey isn't that fantastic after all. but wordy is good, all the same. she's weird, she knows.

ver. i-pretend-that-it-is-3.0-when-i-know-it-is-not (070608): i am boring, take that. (:

v4.0 (200908): got bored, so cut down on the quasi-fanciful stuff even more. perfectly plain now, though somehow the background still doesn't work on safari / google chrome. ):
